Learning outcome
After completing the course, students must have:
- Knowledge of how the history, characteristics, functions and potential of urban spaces or urban areas are assessed
- Understanding of framework premisses and different perspectives and interests that influence the design of urban spaces
- Knowledge of which qualities are important in an urban area, and how they can be ensured in design
- Understanding of prioritize different qualities, and how to create design concepts
- Insight into user needs and different interests within an area.
After completing the course, students should be able to
- Analysing urban areas, neighbourhoods or city centres
- Create idea drafts and feasibility studies
- Develop design concepts that are rooted in an analysis and describe the site's potential
- Prepare design proposals that show an understanding of dimensions, functions and use
After completing the course, students must have a general knowledge in
- Submission of analyses, concept and design proposals
- Presentation of projects - verbally and graphically with drawings, physical and/or digital models as well as descriptions and illustrations

The assessment consists of an individual part through own analyzes and reflection tasks that count for 40%; in addition, a group assignment with a project that focuses on climate neutrality in a group must be submitted. It counts for 60%.Resit-exam option is not offered on the assessment. Students who do not pass can carry out a new assessment the next time the subject is taught in ordinary classes.
