In this roundtable discussion, participants from the European CHANSE-funded project DigiFREN explore practices for doing humanities and social science research in fragile environments. How can we address ethical and practical challenges of doing fieldwork in environments that are influenced by our presence there? And can we meaningfully research such environments without being present?

Roundtable Participants:

Blaž Bajič, Assistant Professor, Department of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia & project leader DigiFREN

Malin Kristine Graesse, Postdoctoral Fellow in Environmental Humanities, Department of Cultural Studies and Languages, University of Stavanger, Norway

Sanja Đurin, Research Associate, Institute of Ethnology and Folklore Research, Zagreb, Croatia

Finn Arne Jørgensen, Professor of Environmental History, Department of Cultural Studies and Languages, University of Stavanger, Norway
