Learning outcome
After completing the course, students are expected to have the following knowledge, skills and general competences.
Knowledge
- Know the theoretical basis for modern project management.
- Have insight into the characteristics of projects as an organization and ways of working.
- Know the processes and structures relevant for medium and large sized projects.
- Have knowledge of different premises for organizing a project.
- Have knowledge of the demands and responsibilities, which lies with a project manager and be able to deal with the most common problems and challenges in various phases of the project.
- Have an awareness of the importance of performance measures in projects from design, setup, implementation and control.
- Have awareness of the how risk management is implemented in project management.
Skills
- Be able to plan, structure control and evaluate projects.
- Be able to use the most common procedures/methods for time-, cost-, people- and risk-management in a project setting.
- Be able to communicate internally in the project organization using well-established project management terminology
General competences
- Understanding the dynamics of planning, executing and controlling of projects.
- Understanding of the role of Communication, Human Resource Management, Purchasing and Stakeholder management in relation to the project management process.
