NB! This is an elective course and may be cancelled if fewer than 10 students are enrolled by January 20th for the spring semester.
Through this course, students will gain fundamental insights in building physical topics as: weathering and local climate, indoor environment, heat engineering building design and calculation of energy, moisture mechanics, sound, lighting and basic fire theory. Students will acquire a broad understanding of the technical challenges and solution principles for building ordinary houses (for example for houses, cottages, kindergartens or similar)
Learning outcome
Students will be able to make building physical calculations of energy, condensation risk, sound etc.and provide professional building application drawings.
The students will acquire basic knowledge of current technical regulations (TEK17) and NS 3031 "Calculations of energy performance of buildings".

Project assignment is groupwork.Written exam with pen and paper.No re-sit opportunities are offered on the project assignment. Students who do not pass the project assignment can retake this part the next time the course has regular teaching.
