Kort om meg
Mady obtained a DPhil in organic chemistry from Menofia University, Egypt, in 2012. He has been employed as a senior researcher (2004-2012) at the National Research Center (NRC), Egypt, mostly on green chemistry projects. In 2013 he joined the University of Stavanger (UiS), Norway. He has been worked in several scientific positions at the UiS, e.g., researcher and associate professor in chemistry at the Faculty of Science and Engineering, Department of Chemistry, Bioscience and Environmental Engineering (IKBM). He is currently a Principal Investigator on a new project entitled ‘Magnetic Recycling of Oilfield Production Chemicals - A New Green Approach Giving Zero Chemical Discharge’ (Funded by the Research Council of Norway, Program: PETROMAKS 2 – Large-scale Programme for Petroleum Research).
His main research program focuses on developing and implementing green and sustainable chemistry into novel products and processes. His current research activities are generally concerned with developing synthetic routes to organic compound-based environmentally-friendly cores. His research group applied key enabling technologies, including microwave irradiation, sonochemistry, mechanochemistry, and catalysis. More recently, we focus on the synthesis and performance testing of novel green and sustainable chemicals-based nanotechnology for the oil and gas industry. In collaboration with national and international partners, we are synthesizing and investigating environmentally friendly nanoparticles to aid in the production and transportation of oil and gas. We have activities in gas hydrates, scale, and corrosion.
