To ensure that new and relevant research becomes known and easily applicable in ECEC, we have created this collection of digital resources based on recent ECEC research for use by teachers and educators in their professional development.
Resources
In the resources you will find videos by national and international researchers associated with FILIORUM. All the resources are based on specific research publications and draw on results from this research.
The research in FILIORUM represents different fields of study and different methodological approaches, and these resources aim to show the range of research and researchers at the centre. As a result, some of the resources are more theoretical, while others are more practical in nature.
The primary target audience is ECEC staff, but several resources are equally relevant for staff in primary schools (grades 1-4). All resources are free, accessible to everyone, and new resources are added continuously. Choose and use the resources that are useful and relevant to you.
All resources are quality-assured by ECEC teachers, both in terms of relevance and communication.
The resources are designed to be used together with the entire staff, given that recent ECEC research emphasises the importance of including all staff in professional development. Some of the materials can also be used at parent meetings or directly with children.
All resources consist of several elements, including a text describing why the topic is important, suggestions for how the resource can be used, one or more educational videos on the topic, reflection questions, a printable version of the resource, activity suggestions, relevant links, a description of the research on which the resource is based, and information about the corresponding author. We have placed great emphasis on the reflection questions and suggestions for activities because these are important for the ECEC-based professional development. The videos are intended for inspiration.
We recommend that the staff member who leads the work in the ECEC-institution reads through the entire resource before it is used.
