In the 3D-lab you will find two FlashForge Adventurer 3 3D printers. The maximum print size is 150 x150 x150 mm, and the material in use is PLA. We also have a larger printer, FlashForge Guider IIS, with a maximum print size of 300 x 280 x 250 mm. You can use Inventor to create your own 3D design. You can download a free student version of the software. Or you can explore Thingiverse to find free designs.

You will also find an Einscan SE 3D scanner in the lab, which is a basic desktop scanner with turntable. Scanner software is installed on the 3D lab desktop computer.

How to get started

Use of the 3D-lab is free of charge, but you have to complete a 20 minute introduction to get access. We are available to give you an introduction on Mondays at 9-10 am, and on Thursdays at 2-3 pm. Log in with FEIDE to book an appointment.

Once you have completed the introduction, you will be able to book and use the 3D-lab when it is available. Please note that the Library 3D-lab is open to UiS students and staff only.
