Learning outcome
After completing this course, the student will
- Understand diverse battery cell types and their historical development,
- Describe the components and architecture of batteries on different length scales,
- Understand the thermodynamics and kinetics of the underlying processes during storage and use at different length scales,
- Have knowledge on relevant measurement and modeling methods for determining the key battery parameters relevant for its performance and lifetime,
- Have an overview of how this technology is connected to other forms of energy storage, sustainability, digitalization, and automation.
