Energy, Energy Technologies, and Energy System Integration (PET515)
This course gives the students basic insights into what energy is, how it is measured and what different forms of energy are. After discussing the main energy related challenges, the course then moves on to various technological solutions that incorporate conventional and renewable energy technologies, storage systems as well as carbon capture and storage. It further discusses the opportunities represented by digitalization to energy systems, and various configurations of possible solutions for energy system integration.

Learning outcome
At the end of the course the students shall have:
- Knowledge of the main energy related challenges
- Basic knowledge of energy and energy forms
- Knowledge of different energy technologies and systems
Skills:
- After the course, students are expected to be able to use the knowledge in the analysis of energy systems and apply it as a transition tool towards a low carbon society.
