Brynjar Åbel Bandlien er dansekunstner og tilrettelegger av situasjoner for dans. Han har sin utdannelse fra Statens Balletthøgskole (nå KHiO) og Hamburgerische Staatsoper i Tyskland. Han har danset med blant annet Nederlands Dans Theater 2. Bandlien har en doktorgrad i dans fra Kunsthøgskolen i Oslo. Siden 2020 er han ansatt som førsteamanuensis i dans ved Fakultet for utøvende kunstfag ved Universitetet i Stavanger hvor han leder det kunstneriske utviklingsarbeidet All Tomorrow´s Parties: post pandemic dancing (2022-2025).

 

Brynjar Åbel Bandlien is a dancer and a facilitator of situations for dance. He has his his education from Oslo National Academy of the Arts (KHiO) in Norway (1991-1993) and from the Hamburg Ballet (1993-1995). Bandlien worked for three years as a dancer for Netherlands Dance Theatre 2 in Den Haag, Holland. He has a PhD in dance from KHIO. Bandlien is currently associate professor of dance in the department of performing arts at the University of Stavanger. Since 2022 he is conducting his PKU-supported research project All Tomorrows Parties: post-pandemic dancing (2022-2025).
