University of Innsbruck
The University of Innsbruck was officially founded in 1669, in fact financed by an extraordinary tax on salt (!).
Information about the university
The university now has 16 different faculties, spanning from Law to Teacher Education.
One of the most famous projects of the university is Ötzi - the Iceman, a 5300 year old mumie.
Innsbruck is a great location for ski and winter sport enthusiasts.
UiS has an Erasmus+ exchange agreement with Innsbruck in the field of English Language and Literature.

Student doing exchange within Erasmus+ are exempted from tuition fees.
Scholarship
Erasmus +-grant in combination with loan and grant from Lånekassen for eligible students.

The Austrian Academic Exchange Service will do its best to organize a room for you although only a limited number of rooms are available. There are more housing options available in the Summer semester. More information.
Visa
Norwegian students do not need to apply for visa when travelling to Europe. Students who do not hold Norwegian citizenship must check themselves if they need to apply for a visa to Austria.
